 Tl*the contact owns a 2002 dodge dakota. the vehicle has centerline wheels, model tomahawk series-escape. while driving approximately 15 mph and proceeding to turn left, the front passenger side wheel exploded. there was massive air loss from the wheel. the contact pulled to the side of the road and changed the wheel. the failure occurred on two separate occasions and the wheels were replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the defective wheels and provided reimbursement. the contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 86,000 and current mileage was 88,000.

 The truck has had sever problems with acceleration and stalling. it also makes a clunking noise when turning the vehicle. there have been numerous amounts of problems with at leat 15 days total in the shop.

 Vehicle's log nuts keeps coming unscrewed, which causes wheels to be loose. the dealership indicated that it was caused by the rims and they replaced them, but problem still exists. ph, *ak

 Rear end & transsmission has had magor repairs five times in ninteen thousand miles and the problem is reaoccurring again. chrysler's response after repairing the vehicle five times as they stated in a letter, the problem is characteristic of the vehicle. the vehicle should be completely replaced.*ak

 A banging noise was coming from underneath the vehicle. the driver pulled over and the noise stopped. while driving, the noise escalated repeatedly. the consumer was able to drive to a mechanic. the mechanic informed the driver that the hub assembly needed to be replaced please provide additional information. *jb tire was barely attached. *eh *jb

 2002 dodge dakota pu truck headed east on interstate highway went out of control, left the road, flipped once & landed upside down in the median. the right front tire appeared chewed up. the right rear wheel came completely off from its mounting & the hubcap was still on the rim. the wheel was placed in the back of the truck when it was towed away. the vehicle was totaled. *nm updated 06/27/06 *jb
