Investing in Rotherham

Article Abstract:

The Rotherham Industrial Development Office has successfully attracted several world-leading firms to set up their industries in England's Southern Yorkshire borough. Among these companies are Cap Gemini, the Continent's largest business consultancy firm and 3M and Rittal, the German electronic-industry giant which made Rotherham its UK headquarters. Laycast, a major supplier to the automotive parts industry, will be investing 15 million pounds sterling during the transfer of its operation from Sheffield, England to the former site of a UK coal firm in Rotherham.

New infrared camera improves U.S. Navy weapons testing

Article Abstract:

Amber has developed metric infrared imaging cameras that have helped weapon testers determine earlier if new systems are working properly. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, in China Lake, CA, has developed infrared imaging systems that use high-speed, high-resolution cameras that are efficient at testing. The system, which is used in realistic environment testing, helps cut costs by finding design problems early.
