FAR Contract Clauses - First Impressions

Article Abstract:

The new Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) represents an attempt to clarify and streamline the present regulations: Defense Acquisition Regulation and Federal Procurement Regulation. New terminology is used, although most changes are not considered to be extensive. Deletion of clause duplication and explanatory material is part of the streamlining process. Specific changes in clauses are outlined. The FAR is to be used for all contracts on or after April 1, 1984.

The potluck of the Irish

Article Abstract:

A dinner attended by New Yorkers with various degrees of Irish heritage celebrated the cookery of both the Anglo-Irish and American-Irish. Traditional dishes included boiled leg of lamb with lemon-caper sauce, stuffed zucchini, colcannon, Niall's roasted potatoes, and turnip puree with orange and nutmeg. Dinner guests were able to appreciate most of all the colcannon, or Ireland's meal of mashed potatoes and kale.
