Mitsubishi's whale of a tale

Article Abstract:

Exportadora de Sal S.A. (ESA), a Mitsubishi-Mexican government joint venture, plans to built a solar salt collection plant on the Baja coast that could damage the ecosystem supporting the gray whales. The facility would be near the San Ignacio Lagoon, a whale breeding area. Environmentalists believe the facility will hurt the whales, as well as turtles, birds, and other regional animals. Mitsubishi countered mounting criticism of the project with a full-page New York Times ad in which the company claimed to be taking precautions to protect the whales' habitat.
