The critical role of disks in the formation of high-mass stars

Article Abstract:

The studies related with the mystery behind the formation massive stars with initial luminosities of a thousand times the solar luminosity or more, which have enormous impact on the galactic environment, is presented. The rotational motions found in the gas surrounding young high-mass stars indicate that non-spherical circumstellar accretion disk might be the fundamental ingredient for the formation of massive-star.

Nucleosynthetic signatures of the first stars

Article Abstract:

The discovery of HE1327-2326, a subgiant or main sequence star with iron abundance about a factor of two lower that of the HE0107-5240, is reported. The studies show that both the stars show extreme abundance of carbon and nitrogen with respect to iron, which indicates a similar origin of the abundance patterns.

A young massive planet in a star-disk system

Article Abstract:

The formation of a planet around the star TW Hydrae, which is surrounded by a well-studied circumstellar disk, is examined. The analysis shows that a planet can be formed within a star-disk system only before the dissipation of the disk.
