Strategies for containing an emerging influenza pandemic in Southeast Asia

Article Abstract:

An influenza H5N1 reported to have serious pandemic threat due to the risk of mutation or reassortment is generating a virus with transmissibility in avian populations in Southeast Asia. Eradication of the emerging pandemic might be executable with the combination of geographically targeted prophylaxis and social distancing measures.

Dengue fever climbs the social ladder

Article Abstract:

The resurgence of dengue fever is threatening the middle-class urbanites in cities such as Singapore and other cities of southeast Asia. Dengue vaccine should provide immunity against all four strains of the virus and must be made available to everyone.
