Physics wins the US budget race

Article Abstract:

The US president George W. Bush has proposed a funding increase of almost a billion dollars for research at the National Science Foundation, The Department of Energy and the National Institute of Standards and Technology as part of a $5.9 billion 'American Competitiveness Initiative'. The funding will support the work of America's most creative minds as they explore promising areas such as nanotechnology, supercomputing and alternative energy sources.

Bush administration dismisses allegations of scientific bias

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) accused that the White House has mispresented and suppressed scientific knowledge. John Marburger, President George Bush's science advisor has issued a point-to-point rebuttal of critic's accusations to correct the errors, distortion, and misunderstanding of the UCS.
