Mouse sequencing plan aims to boost models

Article Abstract:

The efforts to find genes involved in human disease are set to benefit from a plan to sequence the genetic code of 15 different mouse strains. The sequencing project plans to decipher the genomes of 15 mouse strains and would be largely funded by the US National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences with the aim of locating counterparts in humans.

Biologists seek to revamp biowarfare register

U.S. scientists are outraged against the strange methods of around 40 microbes and toxins, which, if got into the wrong hands could be used in biological warfare. Despite apprehension in the scientific community, there is no census on how to tackle this problem.
