Microdomain patterns from directional eutectic solidification and epitaxy

Article Abstract:

It has been possible to identify a very rapid process that leads the formation of two-dimensional periodic thin films with large area and uniform thickness. These films feature vertically aligned cylindrical domains, each with one crystalline lamella.

Thin films of fullerene-like MoS2 nanoparticles with ultra-low friction and wear

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the ultra-low wear and friction in 45% humidity and nitrogen which is exhibited by thin films of hollow MoS2 nanoparticles. The nanoparticles are deposited by a high-pressure arc discharge method.
