Footprints in the snow: The Asiatic cheetah makes its stand on the central plateau of Iran

Article Abstract:

The Asiatic cheetah is struggling to survive on Iran's immense central plateau, surrounded by mountain ranges and dominated in the north by the vast Dasht-e-Kavir Desert. A four-year project to save the cheetah aims to ensure that the species would not be hunted to extinction in the country, a decision taken for the Persian lion and the Caspian tiger.
