Fertility on a shoestring
Article Abstract:
Infertility and childlessness are serious problems in sub-Saharan Africa, which mostly lead to social, mental, sexual and economic problems, especially for women. The Western world perceives malaria and HIV as more serious health problems earmarked for funding, but infertility is ignored and therefore, scientists are developing simple, low-cost alternatives for fertility treatment in Africa to the high-tech, expensive drugs and equipment used in the in vitro fertilization (IVF) technique.

Pulsar planets
Article Abstract:
Planets could form around a millisecond pulsar due to the interaction of a binary system consisting of a neutron star and a white dwarf star. The neutron star's superior gravity will draw out material from the white dwarf. This material then forms an accretion disk around the pulsar. In time, the disk coalesces into one or more planets. This model could explain the planets that may be orbiting the pulsar PSR1257+12.
