Degradation of Cdc25A by beta-TrCP during S phase and in response to DNA damage

Article Abstract:

Research shows that F-box protein beta-TrCP targets phosphorylated Cdc25A phosphatase for degradation by the Skp1/Cul1/F-box protein complex. Data suggest that beta-TrCP may have a role in the intra-S-phase checkpoint. Furthermore, beta-TrCP mediates response to DNA damage via Cdc25A degradation.

JHDM1B/FBXL10 is a nucleolar protein that represses transcription of ribosomal RNA genes

Article Abstract:

The identification of human JmjC-domain-containing histone demethylase (JHDM1B) as a nucleolar protein which plays an important role in cancer development is reported. JHDM1B preferentially binds the transcribed region of ribosomal DNA to repress the transcription of ribosomal RNA genes.

Control of the SCF(super Skp2-Cks1) ubiquitin ligase by the APC/C(super Cdh1) ubiquitin ligase

Article Abstract:

The cell-cycle regulation of Skp2 and Cks1 proteins is examined and assessed whether the reduction in Skp2 and Cks1 was due to protein destabilization. The effect of expressing the stable Skp2 (delta 94) mutant in synchronized cells is also evaluated.
