Article Abstract:

Pictures of strange, gelatinous deep-sea worms that have intrigued zoologists for a long time have hinted at the solution to an evolutionary puzzle. The reassessment of evolutionary histories of the pterobranchs and enteropneusts was prompted by the report of a collection of the first good-quality specimen of a lophenteropneust, which is supposed to be the missing link between the two groups.

High-latitude influence on the eastern equatorial Pacific climate in the early Pleistocene epoch

Article Abstract:

The alkenones from marine sediments in the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean are analyzed. This is done to reconstruct sea surface temperatures and marine productivity over the past 1.8 million years.

Article Abstract:

Research describing the biological production of the surface ocean of the eastern equatorial Pacific in the last 130,000 years is presented. Factors determining productivity are identified.
