The governments in both Britain and the United States has taken measures to pass laws that would protect scientists under the law for animal research and talk about their work. The observations from surveys on scientists' thoughts about animal research, reveal that most of the respondents thought that animal research was essential to the progress of biomedical sciences and suggest that research universities and other institutions could do more to ensure that scientists feel free to talk about their work.

Kyoto Protocol restricts man's influence on climate. They technically help to back projects that increase the capacity of ecosystems to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. It is suggested that negotiators considering the shape of the Kyoto Protocol after 2012 clearly should include peatland restoration under its carbon-trading arrangements.
