Article Abstract:

Red river hogs are a little known species of swine that live in the rain forests of central Africa. They can weigh up to 250 pounds, are highly social, and eat seeds and leaves off the forest floor. Their natural predators are lions and hyenas, but increasingly humans are hunting the animals for their valuable meat.

King of the jungle

Article Abstract:

The environmental policy of the Wildlife Conservation Society is to study the diverse populations of the mountain, western lowland, and Grauer gorillas of Central Africa. In addition, the society seeks to protect their fertile forest habitat, which is threatened by human settlement and economic development.
