The article presents a checklist for conservation planning which covers staff qualifications, biodiversity surrogate and goal choices, methodological rigor and comprehensiveness, analytic rigor, replicability, peer review, and scholarship quality. This is applied to the Wildlands Project in North America.

Article Abstract:

The prediction of landscape change on species population survivability across a landscape degradation continuum may be performed more accurately using a spatially realistic population model rather than a patch-matrix model. Carnivorous mammals in the Rocky Mountain region are used as illustration.
