When Nome needed serum

Article Abstract:

Dog teams had to be used to fetch and transport diphtheria serum from Nulato to Nome in Alaska in 1925. As a result of the efforts of the dogs, a likely epidemic in the town of Nome, which previously suffered from an influenza epidemic, was prevented.
