Article Abstract:

Profiles of the winners of the ninth annual Conde Nast Traveler Ecotourism Awards in the categories of tour operator, destination and hotel/resort. Winner of the tour operator award was Florida-based Margarita Tours, which takes tourists and researchers to the Peruvian Amazon. Winner of the destination award was Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve, which supports the Brazilian rainforest's indigenous people. The hotel/resort winner was the Il N'gwesi Lodge, the first tribally owned safari lodge in Kenya.

Children today are exerting more and more influence over the travel decisions being made by their parents. A survey by marketing company Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell revealed that 68% of parents consider their children's views "extremely influential" when deciding where to go on holiday.
