Article Abstract:

Gothic churches throughout Paris have sculptures of gargoyles upon them. Notre Dame Cathedral and Chartres Cathedral were built upon former pagan shrines. Gargoyles are thought to have originated when the Celts settled throughout Europe. They serve as rain spouts on Gothic cathedrals.

Article Abstract:

New England's lighthouses have become good tourist destination spots because of the diversity of their architectural styles and the folklore and legend that surrounds them. The lighthouses' historical importance also contributes to their allure that few other places can match.

Article Abstract:

Historic royal gardens were opulent and embellished from huge fortunes spent on their creation and maintenance. The gardens still survive in many countries and feature lavish sculpture and ornaments. Natural growth is surrounded by elegant buildings and transported wildlife.
