Article Abstract:

Seven Northeast groundfish experts have offered advice on a variety of subjects that will make bottom-fishing trip more productive. Captain Bill Lee, of Rockport, Massachusetts, who operates a small dragger rigged for the research work he does for state and federal fisheries department, finds that cod always approaches baits from a down-tide angle and so fishermen should take care to anchor on a hump so that the scent of the bait will not be blocked by the structure.
