Article Abstract:

Long-line fishing techniques of the commercial tuna and swordfish industries cause thousands of billfish to be killed each year. In long-line fishing, up to 70 miles of line hung with hundreds of baited hooks is laid out, catching tuna and swordfish, but also marlin, sailfish, dolphins and sea turtles.
