Moscow is surrounded by a necklace of medieval towns and monasteries that form a loose circle around it but the Golden Ring that stretches as far south as Kiev and as far west as Pskov and Novgorod, most of its jewels are located northeast of the capital. The Trinity-St. Sergius Monastery is a magnificent tourist attraction that houses the 'Trinity' icon, which is a means for man to communicate with God.
