Steelhead of the Situk

Article Abstract:

A personal account of fishing for steelhead trout in the Situk River in Southeast Alaska in mid-April. The popularity of the Situk as a site for steelhead fishing amongst fishermen has led to concern that the environment of the area could be under threat and attempts by Government agencies to restrict the numbers visiting the area.

An overview of fishing for king salmon on the Nushagak River in Alaska. The number and location of fish camps on the river has been known to vary from year to year but as a result of the increasing popularity of the river amongst fishermen, regulations have been introduced limiting the amount of fish individual fishermen can take.
