Article Abstract:

It is thought that only about 50,000 people had ever been to Antarctica by 1991, but now the twelve members of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators take about 10,000 annually. A voyage from southern Argentina to this beautiful continent is described.

Pacific Grove, CA, is known as 'Butterfly Town U.S.A.' because each autumn thousands of Monarch butterflies migrate into the Monterey Peninsula town from the north and stay until late February. Efforts the city has made to protect the butterflies' habitat are described.
