Saving sea turtles

Article Abstract:

Seven 'research vacation' tours are listed, and the Black Sea Turtle Recovery Program in Colola, Mexico is described. Tourists can help protect nesting mothers and guide hatchlings to the sea; all eight sea turtle species worldwide are now officially endangered.

Florida's glaring exception

Article Abstract:

Rules governing the shining of lights on beaches in Florida are discussed. Ordinances state that shorefront firms must not shine lights which mislead hatching sea turtles as they crawl towards the safety of the sea.
