Article Abstract:

The various efforts put in by the United Nations Educational Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to protect cultural and natural treasures of a country are presented. One of its efforts include the World Heritage Committee, composed of representatives from UNESCO member states that has worked on iconic structures like the Great Wall of China, Grand Canyon, and Galapagos Islands.

A description of the Branitz estate in Germany, rebuilt by Prince Herman von Puckler-Muskau in 1846 and renovated in 1990, is presented. The design is Oriental in style and includes pyramids and artificial lakes. The estate's cultural and political background is discussed, with references to its connections with British and European intelligentsia.
