Naval cruiser: painting the towns of Alaska WPA style

Article Abstract:

The Alaska Art Project was designed to let 12 established artists render paintings as part of a WPA exhibit on the US territories. The exhibit was cancelled after it was considered indulgent spending by the government. The works of Prescott M.M. Jones and others still exist.

Raven's Blood is a movie that is being made in Juneau, AK, by writer-director Molly Smith. The movie is about the death of a female Tlingit Indian who is a member of the Raven Clan. The motion picture dwells on the tribal laws and beliefs of Alaskan Indians.

The Ted Lambert mystery

Article Abstract:

Lambert lived in Alaska from 1925 until his disappearance in the wilderness in 1960. The artist and outdoorsman is known for landscapes and portraits of working people. His uncompromising attitude alienated him from society.
