Kenai steelhead myth never dies

Article Abstract:

The Kenai River features rainbow trout so large they are often mistaken for steelhead, the larger sea-going trout. Biologists studying the overgrown rainbow trout say they may be a steelhead hybrid or the offspring of fish that escaped from steelhead hatcheries.

Silvers in the salt

Article Abstract:

Catching silver salmon is extremely challenging when they are feeding in saltwater and are in their prime. Out of their spawning freshwater streams, these fish are acrobatic fighters that can easily break light tackle.

Night mission

Article Abstract:

A vivid account of night-time fishing for king salmon on the lower Kenai Peninsula in Alaska is described. The highlight of the night is successfully catching a 20 pound salmon on the Ninilchik River.
