Ecotourism has become one of the most rapidly expanding sectors of the travel industry. There are many different forms of ecotourism in Costa Rica, which has a very high level of biodiversity. The village of Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast attracts around 55,000 visitors each year because it is a very significant nesting site for green turtles.
