Article Abstract:

A description of a place called Fairbanks at the Ice Park, Alaska, a large, fenced wooded area is presented where 40 amateur and professional ice carvers carve realistic, abstract and fantastical figures out of 3-by-5-by-8-foot blocks of ice for a month. The World Ice Art Championships are held in Fairbanks in March every year that attracts sculptures from around the world.

Kobzebue

Article Abstract:

Kotzebue is a mini-Sahara created by cons of glacial grind in the middle of almost 2 million acres of Kobuk Valley National Park and is famous for the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes. The various other features and aspects of Kotzebue are discussed.

Sitka's wonderful whalefest

Article Abstract:

Humpback whales pass through the Sitka Sound of Alaska every year as they begin their migration. The city of Sitka holds a festival in honor of the whales and teaches people who attend it about the whales.
