Article Abstract:

Alaska's dogsled-driven mail carriers endured all kinds of hardships as they delivered mail to the state's remote towns. The mail carriers often worked in freezing temperatures at great risk to themselves and their dog teams. The death of Charlie Biederman in 1995 ended the era of the mail carrier.

Ravens are enigmatic creatures and are kept that way by Alaskan lore. Little is known about ravens and Alaskans have taken to associating them with different things, mostly spiritual. Many are the mysteries of this bird but little is yet known about their habits.
