It also states that the procurement of shotguns specifically for combat use by the U.S military was done in the 20th century as it was recognized that they possessed much potential for both offensive and defensive trench warfare.

Interstate Arms Model 97 shotguns

The popularity of Cowboy action shooting and the change in taste and perception has brought Winchester Model 1987 shotgun back in picture. Interstate Arms has come up with its Chinese made Model 97, which is the copy of the original but differs in features and its parts can't be interchanged with the old model.
