Game hunter Jack Carter developed his own game bullet after being unsatisfied with the bullets available in the market for buffalo hunting. He was able to make a very good one he called Trophy Bonded that Federal Cartridge Co made a deal with him to include the bullet in the company's hunting ammunition.

The .22 center-fires on big game

Big game hunting using .22 center-fire ammunition should be done with a Winchester factory load with a 64-grain bullet in the (.223) or a handloaded Trophy Bonded solid-shank bonded-core. These loads will ensure minimum recoil and accuracy.

The design, construction and specifications of two actual and one theoretical big game rifles are discussed. The first was made in 1983 and the second 13 years later. The third is a design for the perfect hunting rifle.
