The basic requirements of a modern day jam band, which uses songs as the springboard for lengthy instrumental improvisations or 'jams' to be successful in the digital age are discussed. The Chicago band Umphrey's McGee is likely to be the successor to Phish, which ended its ten-year reign as world's most popular jam bands with a farewell tour.

The opening of Machold Rare violins in the Fine Arts Building on South Michigan venue seems to have disturbed the monopoly of Bein and Fushi. Bein and Fushi owned by Robert Bein and Geoffrey Fushi is widely acknowledged to be the largest dealer in rare violins in U.S. and perhaps the world.

Steven Bauer stayed
