The M9 Beretta and Sigarms M11 pistols are the official sidearms used by American military personnel. The history of how these handguns came to replace the M1911-model .45 ACP caliber handgun is described. One reason for the replacement is the growing number of women in the military.

Bowling-pin shooting contests started in 1975 when Second Chance Body Armor owner Richard Davis used discarded bowling pins as targets during competitions he sponsored. Since then, it has gained many adherents from among shooting enthusiasts.

A new accurizing technique for M1911 service pistols

Article Abstract:

An accurizing technique that is cheap and easy to do for M1911 caliber .45 service pistol models is presented. The technique basically improves mechanical tolerances in certain parts of the pistol to improve accuracy.
