A directory of adventure travel schools is given for learning about mountain climbing, canoeing and backpacking. It is estimated that adventure travel makes up 10% of all domestic travel. Tips are given for planning a trip, including health precautions and clothing recommendations.

Skiing the real West

Top ski resorts in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are discussed. Included are Big, Sky, Big Mountain, Grand Targhee, Bridger Bowl and Schweitzer Mountain. All are isolated, but each offers great skiing without crowds of skiers.
