Some Democratic faithfuls hope to call Barack Obama 'Mr. President' by 2008 but the new U.S. senator rules out a run for higher office before 2012. Obama has become more or less conventional blue-state Democrat who often defers to party elders and in this posture, whatever his denials, he looks like a politician with ambitions for higher office.

Economist Steven Levitt alleges that cheating accounts for a statistically significant percentage of the measured improvement in test scores for Chicago grade schoolers. He believes that teachers in as many as five percent of classrooms began facilitating cheating to avoid sanctions for poor test scores.
