2002 NRA National Police Shooting Championship

Article Abstract:

The 41st annual national matches of the NRA National Police Shooting Championships (NPSC) were conducted in Jackson, Miss., where 500 competitors gathered. Tippit, a Border Patrol pilot based in Fort Davis, Texas, previously won the championship in 1997, broke the national record last year and won the championship.

Article Abstract:

Driver used to be a tennis player but she was converted into shooting in her desire to be with her fiance, Max Jensen, more often. In 1999, she won the Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award for her outstanding participation in the National Rifle Assn's activities such as mentoring of amateur shooters.

American Legion hosts first junior air rifle championship

Article Abstract:

The winners of the first junior air rifle championship sponsored by the American Legion are Richard Wilson for sporter air rifle and Everett Miskelly for precision air rifle. Over 300 participants entered the event.
