The Jufu Hall in Beijing, China and the Jaisalmer Fort in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India are among Asia/Pacific's most endangered sites. Architects have created a detailed plan to restore the Jufu Hall while the American Express has helped raised funds to stabilize the Jaisalmer Fort.

Motels great and small: in praise of America's most unsung lodgings

Article Abstract:

Small-town motels have not been and will never be replaced by motel chains along the highways. These motels offer privacy, and for some, nostalgia for trips in childhood when these lodgings were just emerging as a roadside commonplace.
