Article Abstract:

Mintel's annual British lifestyle report shows that the holiday market has experienced a growth in spending of 37% in the five years to 1999, against a 3% fall between 1989 and 1994. The proportion of adults taking more than one holiday a year has risen by 6.2% since 1984, although there is a trend towards trips becoming shorter. Spain and France are the market leaders for British holidaymakers, together accounting for nearly 50% of the overseas holiday market.

Article Abstract:

The results of Mintel,s 2000 lifestage report are discussed, this demonstrates the behaviour of various types of holidaymakers. The results of the survey show that people are dropping the traditional fortnights holiday in favour of several short breaks.
