Employers in the UK leisure industry should be aware that new regulations require them to maintain specific information about employees' working hours. Employees are now not permitted to work for an average of more than 48 hours a week over a 17-week period. There are also new regulations relating to issues including rest breaks, the employment of those under 18 and night working. Individual employees may opt out of the new regulations if they wish.
