Article Abstract:

The need for continuos growth and development in the UK leisure industry can only come from a strong leadership and strategy at local government level. Leisure officers are at the heart of change in the modern leisure industry, encouraging partnerships between private and sector to provide the best possible opportunities for all future uses of leisure facilities. The town of Norwich has been working hard to encourage partnerships between local council and the private sector.

Making the connection

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented of the benefits to the leisure industry of embracing new technological developments. It is observed that many cultural and leisure facilities do not have websites, and that many which do exist have not been updated within the last 6 months.

The results and conclusions of Health and Fitness Omnibus Survey (HAFOS.4) conducted by Leisure-net, to know the effects of London's bid for organizing Olympics in 2012, and its effect on the exercise and fitness interests of country's urban citizens are discussed.
