Article Abstract:

All managers are aware that unexpected difficulties can emerge at any time. However, they still tend to underestimate the amount of time required to complete a particular task and how difficult undertaking the task is likely to be. In order to ensure that unexpected difficulties are kept to a minimum, it is worth making systems as simple as possible. It is important to focus on deadlines in key areas and to carefully consider anything that could possibly go wrong.

The 1995 UK Sports Development Seminar attracted 250 delegates, and the keynote address was given by Rodney Walker, the chairman of the Sports Council. The Sports Council is committed to closer cooperation with sports development officers (SDOs), ensuring that participants in sports development schemes make strong progress. Delegates were able to gain information about progress and trends in a number of areas of sports development.

Colin Moynihan. (Sydney Olympics UK Business Task Force)

Article Abstract:

Colin Moynihan was invited to take on the role of chairman of the Sydney Olympics UK Business Task Force in 1994, by Richard Needham, then Minister at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The aim of the task force is to assist UK companies in identifying and developing business opportunies linked to the 2000 games in Sydney.
