Article Abstract:

The skill of active listening is at the basis of all good management and needs to be learnt to ensure effective and respected leadership. Listening requires a specific level of interaction between the speaker and listener, with positive reactions helping to maintain the flow of information between both. Reflective listening will create an atmosphere of understanding, empathy and confidence allowing the listener to use other management skills to direct the speaker in the right direction.
