Michael Schmidt, a farmer and raw-milk radical, ended his four-week hunger strike on December 20, 2007. Schmidt was previously raided and charged with operating a milk processing plant without a license. During his hunger strike, he drank only one gas of raw milk for 28 days. His demands include the return of his equipment and payment for damages done. He continues to fight for the legalization of unpasteurized milk in Ontario, Canada.

Sheila Copps the head of the Canadian heritage ministry in the middle of 1990s settled that the royalty fees would be paid to the Canadian artists and producers by the businesses that utilize the background music. The service providers have come up with a solution that American music must be played instead of Canadian music since it costs less.
