Safety is of paramount importance, but play equipment needs to be suited to the target age group, the equipment should suit its environment, and the equipment should provide a complete experience encompassing physical, social, intellectual and other elements.

The UK golf market is currently rather underdeveloped, but many leisure operators are starting to consider the viability of indoor golf systems. Such systems can be used in many different locations, such as family entertainment centres and airports, and will soon become an attraction in their own right. However, some observers are sceptical about indoor golf, claiming that simulators do not match up to the real experience of playing golf.
