An 18th century Norfolk barn has been converted to provide a glass manufacturing leisure attraction. A Rural Development Commission grant contributed 15,000 pounds sterling to the enterprise. The centre contributes to the local economy by providing employment and training in a traditional craft. A Business Commitment to the Environment award has recognised environmentally sound practices. Visitors may observe the manufacturing process carried out by hand. The income from tourism has helped offset the fall in income from recession.

Article Abstract:
A leisure complex has been developed on the former garden festival site in Liverpool, England. Festival buildings have been modified and the gardens retained. 'Pleasure Island' offers a large indoor play facility, tenpin bowling, roller disco and science centre. 'Great Explorations' includes 72 interactive science experiments. The Liverpool site was chosen because of it's proximity to large conurbations and established infrastructure.

A heritage centre presenting the history of Jersey has opened at St Peter, Jersey. The main attraction is themed mult-media presentation, 'Living Legend.' Galleries depict historical and present-day Jersey. Jersey's maritime connection is explored. The attraction was developed by Diamond Jersey Ltd in conjunction with Sarner International. Visitor numbers should exceed 300,000 in 1992.
