Good practice in spa management is essential to eliminate the health risks of microbial contamination. Good practice is essential in spa management to prevent health risks. Spas are susceptible to microbibial contamination due to recirculation of warm water. Problems largely arise from organism growth in biofilms. Routine maintenance may not prevent the formation of biofilms but good practice will minimise the associated risks. A named person should be responsible for maintenance. Correct levels of chlorine and bromine are essential for effective disinfection. Changing water and filter backwashing will inhibit biofilm development. Cleaning accessible areas will reduce established biofilm.

The Lost City, Sun City, Bophuthatswana opened in December 1992 incorporating hotel and entertainment centre on a mythical theme. An exhibition portraying the history of Tower Bridge, London will open in July 1993.
