Gas shares

Article Abstract:

Leisure operators may benefit from increased competition in gas provision. British Gas will limit its market share to 40% by 1995. Independent producers will be able to compete in the commercial sector due to a reduction of British Gas' monoploly threshold. Further Monopolies and Mergers Commission investigations are likely to improve competition potential. Independent operators may offer competitive pricing or service deals. The Office of Gas Supply can provide a list of approved suppliers.

Secondary income may be produced from sales, sponsorship, memberships, advertising or franchises.
