Article Abstract:
SpaceKraft of Shipley, England, claims to have developed a new, revolutionary audio-visual concept that makes swimming pools an interactive experience. The swimmers are able to use intelligent lighting systems to work smoke machines, air jets and bubble tubes in the pool, as well as change the lighting, turn on music and operate water fountains. The concept was originally developed for children with special needs, with the children found to be excited and stimulated by the sensory experience. The pools offer children fun as well as personal development, with programs available to meet a range of target customers.

Article Abstract:
Manchester was the only city to submit a bid to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games on time, and so looks very likely to be chosen when the final decision is announced in Nov 1995. The city does not want the 2002 Commonwealth Games to be seen as less significant than the Olympic Games, for which it has bid unsuccessfully twice. It is now hoping to receive lottery funding to build the planned 115 million pounds sterling National Stadium.

Article Abstract:
Part-time workers can be a valuable asset to the leisure business, but the British working culture tends to consider part time workers as second class employees. They are often passed over for promotion and left out of training courses and social activities. Leisure operators should make sure part time workers feel involved and managers should be aware of trouble spots such as friction between part time workers and full time workers.
